THE FINGERS

In palmistry fingers denote the mental world. When the fingers are well developed it means that the mind is elevated. Such a person is fit for study and mental pursuits.

Fingers are either smooth or knotty and long and short. They could also be divided according to the mounts.

Smooth Fingers

In such fingers the joints or the knots are not very well developed which enables us to distinguish these fingers from the knotty fingers. These people grasp things quickly and are endowed with the faculty of comprehension. They always proceed by inspiration rather than by reason, by understanding rather than analysis. They are wrong in their intuitive deductions.

Knotty Fingers

These fingers display a nature which is contrary to the smooth fingers. Analysis, investigation, thoughtfulness and reasoning are the prominent of knotty fingers. Such people do not suddenly rush to anything.

Short Fingers

Short fingered people have a quick mind. Their grasp of things is very easy and they judge the whole from the part. Their mind is very active and alert. Such people do not like to go into details and look at things in a larger perspective.

Long Fingers

Contrary to the short fingered people are those who have long fingers. They are slow going and slow talking. They go into the details of things and are particular about small things. They are suspicious and do not feel quite sure that those who seem to be friends are true.

The Jupiter Finger

The index or the first finger is called the Jupiter finger because it is placed on the top of the Jupiter mount which exhibits qualities of dignity, prestige, honour, religion and philosophy.

The Saturn Finger

The second or the middle finger is called the Saturn finger and shows philosophy, practicability, mysticism and cynicism.

The Apollo Finger

The third or the ring fingers is known as the Sun or the Apollo finger. It indicates eloquence, brilliance, enthusiasm and a sense of beauty.

The Mercury Finger

The fourth finger or the little finger is called the finger of Mercury and it stands on the mount of Mercury. Of all the fingers that of Mercury is a peculiar one. The best of talent in business and shrewdness in life are shown by this finger. Its development indicates either good or bad qualities of the mount underneath. A bad Mercury finger reveals a shrewd rogue or a wise criminal. This finger has a special reference to criminology.
